ADVANCE PAYMENT PROGRAM

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has been providing the Advance Payment Program to NBMSA members since 2008. The program allows producers to get interest free cash advances up to $100,000. The loan is refundable 15 days after the selling of the maple syrup and before the end of December each year.

Again this year, member producers took advantage of the program. A total of  $2.2 Million was administered by the NBMSA.

The APP Program is now completed.

Another program will be available in November 2019.

SILVICULTURE PROGRAM

Funding for and implementation of the silviculture program initiative is made possible through the Department of Energy and Resource Development (DERD) and the New Brunswick Maple Syrup Association Inc. (NBMSA).

Funding is available to enhance the operability and increase the production of maple syrup from both Crown and private land sugar bush, primarily through thinning and harvest treatments designed to develop both young and established stands through the removal of diseased and dying trees as well as undesirable species.

2019 Silviculture Program is now available.
